ST HILARY PARISH COUNCIL Meeting Friday 8th May 2026

Cllrs G Ford,(Chairman), M Ryan, (V/Chairman) P Behrens, J Howells,
P Rule, S Taylor, T Thomas.

Public Question Time
Mr K Eade asked if there was any more information concerning the
proposed Campsite at Belvedere,, Cllr Taylor replied that there is a lot
of rubbish at the site but no sign of any progress.
It was then discussed about the role of Cornwall Council and the lack of
support with this issue and also the solar farm application at
Trevarthian. It was agreed that the Chaiman write to the Chief
Executive and the various departments and local MP Andrew George to
express our feelings about the lack of support.

It was proposed by Cllr Ryan and seconded by Cllr Thomas that the
Chairman sign the minutes circulated prior to this meeting as being a
correct record of that meeting, Agreed (1 abst,Cllr Taylor)

It was proposed by Cllr Taylor and seconded by Cllr Behrens that the
Council accept payment of all cheques, All Agreed

After a discussion it was proposed by Cllr Ryan and seconded by Cllr
Howells to recommend approval of both applications but also support
the Ramblers and World Heritage views onnthis application, All Agreed

It was proposed that we subscribe for another year and after a long
debate it was proposed by Cllr Ryan and seconded by Cllr Taylor that
we rejoin, A vote was taken and the motion was carried
by a majority of five votes to one .

Change of Meeting Date
After a long and varied discussion, it was decided to defer this item to the next meeting.
Co Option of a New Councillor.
The Clerk reported that there are two applicants for the vacancy, and that interviews will take place at The Old Schoolroom on the 22nd May 2026 at 19.00.

Cllr Behrens - Asked about a property in Relubbus and if it was a listed building
Cllr Thomas - Nothing to report
Cllr Howells - Are Enforcement aware of the new building at Bay Tree Nurseries, which is not a garage as previous application. Friendship Woods is a mess and should be cleared as soon as possible.
